At Shoreview Community Garden Club, our mission is to educate members in all phases of gardening and horticultural practices, promote civic beauty, and aid in the conservation of natural resources.

Founded in 1991, Shoreview Community Garden Club is a 501c3 non-profit and has been a staple in the community for over a quarter century. From humble beginnings, we've grown to become one of the largest and most active garden clubs in the area.

Shoreview’s 1st pollinator rain garden. 

At McCullough Park in Shoreview, 27 volunteers from the Arden Hills- Shoreview Rotary Club, the Shoreview Community Garden Club and the city’s natural resources team worked in shifts to plant over 400 plants to bring the city its first pollinator rain garden.

Dates, times, and locations will be posted here as tours are scheduled.


Monday, June 1 from 6-7:30 pm   Trail Clean-up

We'll meet at 6:00 in the upper Shoreview Community Center Parking Lot (like usual), the one that is near the main door of the Shoreview Library.  We clean up debris along Highway 96.  Bring small garbage bags (size of Target/Cub) and wear gloves.  Please let Faith know if you want to be involved by emailing her at faithjamnik@aol.com.


Tuesday from 2:30-7:15 pm   Dates to be determined   Shoreview Farmers Market

Sit at a table, talk about club membership and give advice on plants, gardens, etc. to market shoppers. Please email Faith at faithjamnik@aol.com if you can help at the Farmer's Market. There must be three volunteers before a date can be scheduled.


Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 am  Flower Bouquets for Seniors

Make bouquets to distribute to senior housing in the area.  Session will be held at Faith’s house in Shoreview, on the outside deck if the weather is nice, inside if the weather is not.  Please bring flowers, grasses and greenery from your own gardens, or pick something up at Trader Joe’s, Costco, etc.  It's helpful to bring them in a bucket of water to keep them fresh and please bring your own small clippers. Contact Faith at faithjamnik@aol.com for more information.


Tuesday, June 9 at 2:00 pm - Operation No Limits.

This service project entails volunteering at the Juvenile Detention Center in Lino Lakes and participate in meaningful activities, involving plants and gardening, with at-risk students.  Please contact Cindy Langanki if interested since there is some pre-registering involved:  651-280-8191 or cindylanganki@gmail.com. 


Tuesday, June 9, 6:00 - 8:30 pm - Garden Tour at Carole Young's house

Lots of things will be blooming and there will be refreshments on the patio.  If there are light rain showers, we'll go ahead with it, but if there is severe weather, we'll postpone it to a later date.  Address:  2014 Edgewater Avenue, Arden Hills, 55112.  Plenty of parking on the street. 


Wednesday - Sunday, June 10-14   Plant Sale by Erin Walsh, former garden tour host.

9 am - 6 pm on Wednesday - Saturday and 9 am - 2 pm on Sunday.  13266 Martin Street NW in Coon Rapids.


Saturday, June 20th. Cactus and succulents Tour

Private tour (and possible sale), at a home  The first eight members that show interest by emailing Faith at faithjamnik@aol.com will be allowed to attend.

 

Friday, June 26 at 9:00 am     Lepak/Larson historic farm home

Help with the period gardens, digging up and dividing a daylily bed that’s quite overgrown.  Meet at 1170 Lepak Court, Shoreview, with tools for digging and splitting, etc. Let Faith know that you are planning on going:  faithjamnik@aol.com. 


Sunday, July 12, 2:00 pm   Lavender Barnyard

Enjoy a 30 - 45min tour exploring their expanding lavender farm learning about their history and plans for the future.  Please RSVP to Faith at faithjamnik@aol.com so I can estimate how many people are coming.  Pay $5 for the visit when you attend.

Autumn Social in September to begin the new season. 

Annual volunteer appreciation party to start off the new calendar year. 

A public plant sale, generally in May, where members who volunteer get “first dibs” on plants.
